  * exchange 交换,交流
  eg. An exchange of views 交换意见
  * thanks of (doing) sth. 为……而感谢

  * mind 介意,在意
  eg. Do you mind if I smoke? 你介意我吸烟吗?
  注意:
  表示不介意的正确回答应是"No"或"Of course not"或"Go ahead"。婉转的拒绝可说:"Well, actually, I'd prefer you didn't/not to."如回答"Yes"则表示"是的,我介意。"中国学生应该注意,以免引起误会。

  这里的do代表动词原形。
  eg. - I wish we could cooperate again.

  eg.- I'm sorry, I forgot to bring the copy of our contract.

  一点也不。别客气。
  eg. - Do you worry about the supplies?
  - Not at all.
  - 你担心供货情况吗?

  "Not at all."这句话还可以做为别人向自己致谢时的回答。
  eg. - Thank you very much.
  - Not at all.
  - 非常感谢。
  - 不谢,不谢。
  * a number of 若干,许多[通常只修饰可数名词]
  eg. Owing to the depression, a number of workers have been fired in the past two months.
  由于经济萧条,在过去的两个月中,许多工人被解雇了。
  * prefer (比起……来)更喜欢……
  eg. Some consumers prefer imported cars (to those hat are home-made)
  (比起国产车来)有的消费者更喜欢进口车。
  * I would rather … 我宁愿……
  注意:
  rather 后必须接动词原形。
  eg. The delivery is late again. I'd rather not do business with them.
  交货又晚了。我宁愿不和他们做生意了。
  * would rather…than… 宁肯……也不……
  eg. We would rather cut down the price than keep a large quantity of goods in stock.
  我们宁肯降低价格,也不愿积压大量货物。
  * break down 发生故障
  eg. The machine broke down again.
  机器又坏了。
