加速
1. Accelerate
指加快动作或程序，使事情在更短的时间内完成，强调一件事情的运动、增长及进展的速度加快。
e.g. A substance used to accelerate a fire
◎扩展记忆：acceleration可表示汽车的“加速性能”。
e.g. a car with good acceleration
2. Hurry
为了节省时间而很快地行动，含有快而慌乱的意思。
e.g. Hurry up, or we’ll be late for the class.
◎扩展记忆：hurried adj. 意思是匆忙赶成的，仓促完成的。
e.g. a hurried meal匆匆吃完的一顿饭
3. Hasten
急忙地做某事，强调事情的紧迫性或突然来临，但做事快而不乱。
e.g.
◎扩展记忆：I hasten to add （used when you realize that what you have said may not have been understood correctly）可以翻译成“（我）赶紧补充一句”
e.g. an exhausting course, which, I hasten to add, was also great fun
4. Quicken
富有生机地将动作在更短的时间内完成。
e.g. Her pulse quickened.
◎扩展记忆：经常和quicken连用的词有哪些呢？
你可以说heart/pulse/breathing/pace quickens etc.
